Ethan is growing SO fast! Here he is, now 3 1/2 months:
**************
Today was supposed to be the day we jumped back into homeschooling full-bore. I even made schedules and lesson plans! But life intervened, as it tends to. Ethan was up for the first half of the night, crying (screaming) with teething pain. (It's really unfair for a little guy to start teething before he can reliably maneuver a teething soother into his mouth!) Brianna was up several times vomiting. It's now after noon and she's still in bed feeling yucky. :o( Of course the kids' travails meant that Firmin and I got precious little sleep. Alexander was the only one in any condition to do school this morning, but he was more than happy to ditch math for the prospect of exclusive use of his ill sister's new snow board! Oh well, we'll try again Wednesday or Thursday.
Happy New Year to everyone!

Have you heard the saying that the secret to a long, happy marriage is
falling in love over and over again, each time with the same person? I
believe this ...

He is SOOOOO cute. I'm sort of gobsmacked by this motherhood thing. I mean, I used to "like" babies, as in "Oh, nice baby, cute." Now I LOVE babies.
For a second I thought you were talking about homeschooling with Ethan, and I thought "man, I'm way behind!"
He is so adorable! Is it just me, from afar, or does he look a LOT like Brianna? So cute. I hope everyone is feeling better at your place. Being sick is bad. Being the parents of sick kids can be even badder.
You caved on the snowboard?! *grin*
Oh, he's adorable!!! He looks like he enjoys being up and looking around. I'm sure sibling-watching ranks high on his list of favorite daily activities ;-)
I hope the rest of you escape the germs going around1
Oh my! Ethan is absolutely gorgeous. And what beautiful eyes he has.
Hope Brianna is feeling better and that you and Firmin have gotten some sleep.
Happy New Year!
Kimberly
Oh YAY for pictures! It looks like he is getting to big to fast! At first look I thought he looked so much like A. But, then after reading Jen's comment about him looking a lot like B it got me thinking. Here I am at work, looking so hard at your little baby to see which older sib he looks like. Well, gosh..he looks like BOTH! ;)
Back to work! hehe
Well, after a trip to a few other blogs. ;)
Hope B is feeling better!
Look at that beautiful baby! Aw Steph, he's adorable.
Okay, so here's my two cents. I think the first picture looks just like Brianna, and the second looks like Firmin. Either way, he's a cutie. Sleepless nights make me fear the prospect of motherhood. I love to sleep at night. I guess I'll love my kids more than sleep when I have them. Hope you had a happy new year despite the problems. I was going to call you, since it was only 9 p.m. for me, but M&D said not to because of sick/teething kids.
Ragnar -- funny that you thought I was homeschooling Ethan! "Today we worked on sitting up unsupported and the vowel sound "ah"" Hee hee!
Jen -- most people think he looks like Alexander, but he has some features of both kids. It's hard for me to say; he looks like himself to me!
I didn't exactly *cave* on the snowboard. My sister got it for Brianna with my permission. She had already bought something for Alexander, but I think it's good for him to have to share hers. He begged to take it on a much larger hill this week, and it was nice to be able to say "no" with Brianna's back-up. She's much more cautious, which is good in this case!
Sue, Kimberly, Fran and Angela -- thanks for the compliments on my little cutie. Unfortunately, I did not escape the bug. I was in a bad way last night and most of this morning. Firmin took the day off work, and I stayed in bed until about 2 pm. (On the up-side, I was able to read a novel for *hours* at a time! I can't remember the last time I did that without incurring much sleep-deprivation.)
Laura -- Happy New Year to you too! You'll deal with the sleep-deprivation when the time comes, and you'll survive. Amazingly, your need for sleep seems to decrease a bit, and the bonding to the baby helps too. That said, there will be times when you look over at your sleeping husband a *loath* him for his ability to tune out the baby and sleep, lol! There will also be times when you cry right along with the babe out of sheer exhaustion. Hopefully those times will be few, however. With Brianna and Ethan they have been. We won't talk about Alexander... ;o)
Happy New Year!
I'm so happy you posted pics--he's getting so big and wise-looking...!
Hope ya'll all get better soon!
And, oh, my word, he's adorable. Get me a spoon, I'm going to eat 'im up, he's so cuuuuute.
You're blogging along so quickly that if I don't take time to comment the first time I read, I miss it. Of course the baby is deliciously cute!!!!! We love them all, no matter whom they look like:-)
Grandma and Grandpa
He's just beautiful, Steph! (I can call him beautiful, right?) Look at those eyes! And I would agree with J that he looks like Brianna. Cutie!
Hope the sickies have passed you by and that everyone (including Mr. Teether) are feeling a little better today.
Take care!
